Join us for our Gottesdienst, where we offer God thanks, praise, and supplication in the German language. We sing hymns from the Evangelisches Gesangbuch, hear Scripture and reflect on it, and pray for ourselves and our world. Our organ from northern Germany adds special authenticity to our worship.

Event:  Sara Daneshpour Concert

 Pianist Sara Daneshpour will open a new artist series at The United Church on Friday, October 8 at 8PM. Ms. Daneshpour’s keyboard studies began in Washington D.C, eventually taking her to the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia as a pupil of Leon Fleisher and Oleg Volkov.  Her early career has been meteoric, and to date she has appeared often in the U.S., as well in Germany, Finland, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, and Russia.  In Moscow, she was privileged to play in the Great Hall of the Conservatory.  The Washington Post wrote of her recent performance with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra that she “created transfixing poetry.” Ms. Daneshpour will perform Schumann Symphonic etudes Op.13, Brahms Paganini Variations Bk.2, and Haydn Sonata in F major Hob.23.
